FRISCO, Texas – While sifting through the list of cuts, it's easy to get sidetracked by the notable players who are no longer on this team, such as Dan Bailey and receiver Deonte Thompson.

But let's not be overlooked by the names that made the team, at least for now.

And it starts with tight end Rico Gathers, who is on the 53-man roster for the first time in his career. But his Saturday morning didn't start out so well, considering he was in a Frisco jail after being arrested Friday night for possession of marijuana. Gathers posted bail around 10 a.m. on Saturday but wasn't able to participate in the team's walk-through practice at The Star.

The Cowboys decided to keep four tight ends, along with fourth-round pick Dalton Schultz.

Gathers wasn't the only surprise player to make the team. Other "bubble" players to make it include defensive linemen Daniel Ross, safety Tyree Robinson, quarterback Mike White and linebackers Chris Covington.

But look for some changes to occur on Sunday as the Cowboys could likely put in a few waiver claims to players released by other teams. Those decisions will be announced on Sunday, which could affect players are currently on the roster.

Don't forget the Cowboys will probably move three players to injured reserve on Monday, including Travis Frederick, and possibly Datone Jones and Noah Brown.
