Cowboys who did not dress for Saturday's game included cornerback Terence Newman, wide receiver Terry Glenn, defensive end Greg Ellis, fullback Oliver Hoyte, tight end Anthony Fasano, offensive tackle Doug Free, wide receiver Jamaica Rector and running back Jackie Battle . . . Rookie quarterbacks Matt Moore and Richard Bartel did not play Saturday, with Tony Romo playing the first three quarters and backup Brad Johnson taking the fourth. Moore and Bartel should have more of an opportunity to play Thursday night at Minnesota when the majority of the starters are unlikely to play much more than a quarter or so . . . Rowdy, the Cowboys mascot, and mascots from the Texans, Eagles, Saints, Vikings, Patriots, Bucs and Ravens were in attendance Saturday night for pre-game and halftime festivities, dropping from the rafters of Reliant Stadium on ropes onto the field and into the stands . . . The 70,512 paid attendance for Saturday's game was a preseason record for the Texans. The previous record was 70, 431 - a 2004 preseason game also against the Cowboys.
