Twenty-six later, the no-nonsense lady born Dec. 7, 1918, in Minneapolis, finally retired from the job, three years before current Cowboys owner Jerry Jones bought the club in February of 1989. Those with the Cowboys from the start will remember her for being tough, surviving in what traditionally had been a men's world.
