Practice Points: More injuries, more rotations & Micah watch

Injuries to Monitor: Thursday's padded practice was not kind to the Cowboys on the injury front. Tight end Jake Ferguson was hit in the back by Kenneth Murray during a redzone drill, and after staying on the ground and returning to the sideline for a while, he walked back to the locker room. Rookie running back Jaydon Blue got brought down by the facemask during a team drill, and was carted to the injury tent before walking back to the locker room under his own power. Blue later briefly returned to the practice field in shorts and a long sleeve shirt, which is a good sign. (-Tommy Yarrish)

O-Line depth takes a hit: Another injury from Thursday's practice occurred the offensive line with Dakoda Shepley walking off slowly. SHepley, who has played both guard and center during this camp, went to the medical tent and then to the locker room, missing the rest of practice. (-Nick Eatman)

Safety Net: The safety room is one of the portions of the Cowboys' depth chart that has great depth, and that's thanks in part to Juanyeh Thomas. The young defensive back has missed the last several practices with a minor leg injury, however, costing him reps but, on Thursday, he was participating fully in team drills only two days ahead of the preseason opener. That's great news for not only Thomas, but for a depth chart that can continue to boast both depth and ability. (-Patrik Walker)

No Sign of Micah: For the first time in Oxnard, there was no sign of Micah Parsons on the practice field Thursday. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was also absent, could there be contract negotiations being had? Maybe, but it's also very possible that it's just a coincidence. Nonehtless, it was a notable takeaway from Thursday's practice. (-Tommy Yarrish)

Coop DeVille: In some ways, the Cowboys' rebuilt and youthful offensive line will go as Cooper Beebe, the starting center, does, given his responsibilities in the middle. The second-year talent has looked sensational throughout camp though, and again on Thursday, in both pass protection and as a run blocker, and he's continually spotted downfield hunting bodies on screen plays as well — a terrifying sight for defenders. (-Patrik Walker)

Slot Machines?: The Cowboys continue to work different players into the slot cornerback spot. Thursday's practice saw more rotation there, including rookie Zion Childress and also Kemon Hall, who worked with the first-team defense in the slot, in between starting corners DaRon Bland and Kaiir Elam.
