IRVING, Texas – Cowboys running Joseph Randle will be fined "significantly" for his arrest Monday evening, but is still expected to play Sunday against the Giants.
Head coach Jason Garrett addressed the media Wednesday for the first time since Randle was arrested for shoplifting at nearby mall in Frisco.
"We addressed with him immediately. The actions that we're going to take is to fine him significantly and move forward," Garrett said in his press conference. "Joseph addressed it this morning with the team in the team meeting. He addressed it with me in length yesterday."
Garrett didn't get into specifics about his conversation with Randle, but said the backup running owned up to the situation.
"He took full responsibility for it," Garrett said. "There's a lot of circumstances that were surrounding the situation, but there are no excuses, no explanations for this. He made a really poor decision. He recognizes that – as poor a decision as he's ever made in his life. Again, there's consequences to that decision. There are public consequences and certainly consequences on this football team. He's going to feel those and we'll move forward."

Garrett didn't say whether suspending Randle was heavily discussed, he stood by the decision to fine him.
"We felt like this was the appropriate thing to do, given this situation," Garrett said.
According to the police report, Randle was arrested Monday evening for attempting to steal underwear and cologne from the Dillard's in Stonebriar Mall in Frisco. The charge is a Class B Misdemeanor Theft because the theft value was between $50 and $500.
Randle had one of his best games of his career Sunday against the Seahawks, rushing for a season-high 52 yards on just five carries. His 38-yard run in the first quarter helped turn the tide of an early 10-0 deficit and led to the Cowboys' first touchdown. Randle also had a key tackle on special teams in the fourth quarter.
