2025 Roster Tracker: La'el Collins cut, more

FRISCO, Texas — With the preseason now in the books, one of the most difficult parts of the NFL calendar has arrived for the Dallas Cowboys' front office, and those of each of the 32 teams around the league; and that's the task of cutting down the roster ahead of the regular season.

The first headline move made by the Cowboys, on Sunday, transitioning Trevon Diggs from the active/PUP (physically unable to perform) list, where the All-Pro cornerback started this year's training camp as he recovered from a season-ending knee injury, to the active roster to start the season.

It doesn't guarantee he'll be ready for the Week 1 clash against the Eagles in Philadelphia, but it does mean there's a chance and, most importantly, that his roster seat is now occupied — balanced by the team's decision to release La'el Collins after a second attempted reunion with the veteran offensive lineman in this year's training camp.

Keep an eye on the tracker below, as it will be updated frequently, to understand the flurry of official transactions happening over the next couple of days as the 53-man roster is formed and, not long thereafter, the official practice squad.

And, needless to say, there will inevitably be some roster gymnastics involved as well — as per usual.

[Vested veterans, defined as those who have accrued at least four complete NFL seasons, are not subject to waivers at this time and are free to sign with any NFL team once released.]
