Scandrick, 2 Other Veterans Get Rest Day Saturday

OXNARD, Calif. – Orlando Scandrick has made steady progress in his return from last year's ACL/MCL injury and recently worked back into team drills. Following their plan to be deliberate with his workload, the Cowboys are giving the veteran cornerback a day off Saturday.

"He's done a great job," head coach Jason Garrett said. "Since the start of training camp he's made a lot of progress. It's just a matter of him working a few days in a row and dialing back a little bit. He might do a little something tomorrow.

Right tackle Doug Free and cornerback Brandon Carr also will have a veteran's day off.

Left tackle Tyron Smith got a rest day Friday, which means 2015 third-round pick Chaz Green could get first-team reps in two straight practices.
