Spook-tacular Halftime

This week the Cheerleaders worked diligently to prepare for the rivalry matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. They showcased their world famous kick line during their pregame performance, followed by four quarters of nonstop dancing … AND a Halloween-themed halftime show

For halftime, the DCC changed out of their star-spangled uniforms for a more sexy, siren costume! They were joined by the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles, Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue Dancers, and a talented cast of more than 200 local studio dancers who brought some of the most haunting Halloween songs to life at midfield.

Choreographer Judy Trammell, along with the squad's eight group leaders, had several creative sessions working through intricate, well-designed choreography set to iconic Halloween songs. The recognizable melodies in the show included "Ramalama Bang Bang," "Monster Mash," "The Time Warp," "Freak Show" and "Thriller."

As the musical score was laid out, the creative movements and choreography started taking shape. As a group, the cast only had two nights of "turf time" with Judy, learning all the yard lines that created the brilliant field formations. During this time, director Kelli Finglass took a seat upstairs in the television control room to ensure that the 12 field cameras highlighted the most effective moments of the seven-minute show.

Although the scoreboard didn't boast a win this week, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' halftime performance certainly did. Now all efforts will be focused on the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Happy Halloween!
