PRO CON
Fundamentally sound. Johnson has good footwork and technique to read receivers and stay with them early on routes. Attacks the football when thrown his way and disrupts the catch point. Four years of college play and he’s still just 21 years old. Can struggle as the route goes along, especially with faster receivers. Doesn’t have bad speed, but can be separated from. While he has good technique tackling, bigger running backs and tight ends can power through him.

OVERVIEW: Johnson saw action in all four of his years at San Diego State, and the 2025 season was the culmination of his development. He posted career highs in pass breakups (8) and interceptions (4) while also returning two of his picks for touchdowns. Johnson may not have the best top-end speed in the draft class to run with faster receivers downfield, but his consistency in technique and footwork keeps him in the receiver's hip pocket most of the time, allowing for good coverage.
