PRO CON
A confident, productive defender who has a knack for making big plays when needed, Ponds is one of the better zone coverage players in the class. He makes plays in the run game despite being undersized. Size makes him an immediate mismatch against taller, physical receivers and larger, more powerful running backs. Ponds will need to find a way to overcome that if he moves to the slot corner position.

OVERVIEW: Ponds was the star of Indiana's defense during its run to the national championship last season. In the College Football Playoff semifinal game against Oregon, he took back a pick-six on the opening play of the game. He has mostly played on the outside over his entire college career but will likely need to move inside at the NFL level. Despite being undersized, Ponds was able to hang around with some of college football's best in his last two years with the Hoosiers. Whether he'll be able to do it at the NFL level is the question.
