2026 NFL Draft Prospect
  • Height: 6-2
  • Weight: 253
  • School: Texas A&M
  • Class: Senior
PRO CON
Extremely quick and bendy off the line of scrimmage. Powerful hands at the point of attack and pass rushes with a plan. Has countermoves to back it up. Straight-line speed and motor are ideal for pursuit and good angles. Has shorter arms than all but two prospects in the history of the scouting combine. Susceptible to offensive tackles with NFL-caliber length. Saw this in the SEC as he was pushed off his spot at times.

OVERVIEW: Once an under-the-radar recruit, Howell is now the epitome of a "late developer" in college football. His only offers out of high school (despite a highly-productive career) were from a bevy of Group of Five schools. He ultimately landed with Bowling Green where he became one of the best edge rushers in the MAC over three seasons. That caught the eye of the Texas A&M staff, but while he transferred for the 2024 season, he truly broke out in 2025 as the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and winner of the Lombardi and Bednarik Awards.
