|---|---|
| Violent first step and first punch that combine for some of the best get-off in the draft class. Plays with heavy hands and a strong lower half. Extremely high motor that made an impact late in games when needed. | In just the seventh percentile for arm length in the NFL Draft, meaning he’ll struggle with some of the longer offensive tackles in the NFL. Tends to hesitate after the first strike, limiting countermoves and second efforts. |
OVERVIEW: One of the key cornerstones in one of the best college football defenses last season, Bain was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, the Ted Hendricks Award winner, which is given to the best college defensive end, and he was also the nation's leader in pressures with 83. His three-year run with the Hurricanes will be remembered as one of the best in program history, and he did it while learning from a Hall of Fame mentor, defensive line coach Jason Taylor. Bain finished with 15.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.
