| Impressive flexibility and acceleration off the line for someone of his size. Uses his hands effectively and times up his moves like a pro. Consistently gives effort in pass rush, run defense and pursuit. Motor never runs cold. | Have seen him many times on tape out of his gap assignment because of over-aggression after a good jump. Is not heavy enough to anchor on the interior, limiting him to 3-tech or wider defensive alignments. |
OVERVIEW: It could be argued that Woods had more pressure than anyone out of high school as a top-10 recruit and the Alabama Player of the Year. But after committing to Clemson, he stood out over three seasons playing both on the inside and edge of the defensive line. He was named a full-time starter in 2024 and took advantage with 8.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and All-ACC Honorable Mention status. Then Woods took it a step further with an All-American-caliber season in 2025, also earning a first-team All-ACC nod.
