| Rodriguez is the first player since 2005 with seven-plus forced fumbles and four-plus interceptions in a season. Is also a tackling machine with 127 and 128 over last two years. More athletic than the tape suggests. | Will arm tackle or over-sell looking for the big play, which made him susceptible to broken tackles. Not great moving backwards in coverage against quicker receivers. Is much better against tight ends. |
OVERVIEW: Rodriguez started his college career as a dual threat quarterback out of Wichita Falls, Texas. He played at Virginia as a backup at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end, but once it became apparent he was not going to have a future on the offensive side of the ball, he immediately made an impact defensively. He transferred to Texas Tech and was named first-team All-Big 12 in 2024 after finishing third in the FBS in tackles. Then in 2025, he stepped up to lead the Red Raiders as an All-American.
