| Impressive when working downhill. Uses his hands and length effectively and pairs this well with a strong lower body. Has a quick first step that puts him in a favorable position to gain leverage. Could be a better pass rusher than his college tape suggests. | His arm length is nothing to write home about despite how Trotter uses it. He’s also not as explosive side to side as he is downhill. This limits his ability in coverage as he remains tight-hipped when moving backwards. |
OVERVIEW: Trotter had a fantastic debut season while playing for West Virginia in Morgantown, even after suffering a lower-body injury that forced him to redshirt and miss the 2023 season. His 2024 campaign earned him recognition as both the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American. He then transferred to Missouri and immediately led the Tigers in tackles (84) and tackles for loss (13). He's the son of the four-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro Jeremiah Trotter.
