| Barber’s production and performance against high-level competition passes the test. He’s crafty with his hands and his placement is usually spot on. Explodes off the line with ease and glides to his spot. His basketball background is apparent. | Allowed too many countermoves to finesse edge rushers, but then against power edge rushers, he’d struggle to sink his hips and anchor. Part of that is because of inconsistent footwork and a narrow base. |
OVERVIEW: Growing up in Jacksonville, Barber was surrounded by Gators fans. So to no one's surprise, after becoming a state champion and multi-sport athlete (basketball) in high school, he signed with Florida. It only took a redshirt year in 2021 before he found his way into a solidified spot at right tackle the next season. Then in 2023, he made the full-time flip to left tackle where he logged nearly 1,200 pass-block snaps over the next three seasons.
