| Extremely clean and crisp in his fundamentals. Teach-tape type of footwork and has the ability to maneuver in the pocket. Moves through his progressions with confidence and delivers a solid ball with velocity. | Inconsistent decision-making at times through his one season of starting experience. Arm talent is above average but not special. Fails to see safeties dropping into coverage at times; happened on multiple picks. |
OVERVIEW: There are plenty of questions still surrounding one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 draft class. Once a 5-star prospect out of high school, Simpson spent three seasons as a backup to Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe in Tuscaloosa. Meaning, he doesn't check the recent emphasis on starting experience and pass attempts off the list. However, none of the aforementioned questions pertain to him as a leader or his overall skill set. He will enter the league with plenty of pro-ready traits, but where he lands will determine a lot.
