PRO CON
Extremely versatile back with tremendous lower body strength. Exceptional lateral ability and reliable hands as a pass catcher. Balance, explosiveness, route running and vision are all NFL ready now. Johnson can be a liability in pass protection, and he shies away from contact at the line. Not going to lower his shoulder with power to “truck” defenders, relying on his elusive ability to get around would-be tacklers.

OVERVIEW: After being a backup for three seasons in Lincoln, Johnson's breakout season was not on college football's radar for 2025. He went from 1,009 rushing yards between his redshirt freshman and redshirt sophomore campaigns combined, to 1,451 rushing yards this past year. He and Saquon Barkley are the only two Big Ten players in over 20 years who tallied 1,400 rushing yards and 350 receiving yards in a season. Johnson's production stands out, but his ability to pass block will determine his ultimate NFL fate.
