PRO CON
Has fantastic ball skills with interceptions increasing year after year in college. His good play speed allows Fitzgerald to close quickly on passes heading his way. Excels in zone coverage and reads route concepts well. He’s not as quick in change of direction, and can miss man coverage responsibilities with eyes on the quarterback for too long. He needs to work on taking more advantageous angles when defending the run.

OVERVIEW: Fitzgerald has been a turnover machine in his collegiate career, and it benefited USC last year. This came after he spent the previous two seasons at North Carolina State with two years of juco ball at Coffeyville prior to that. He had 10 collegiate interceptions across three seasons to go with 14 pass breakups. In high school, Fitzgerald was a dual-threat quarterback, and the knowledge of route concepts shows on tape when he gets a jump on the offense. Still needs work on his eyes and in the run game, but he's a smart player.
