In honor of the popular social media trend "Throwback Thursday," and in preparation for Sunday's game with Giants, let's look back a few years for this week's installment of "TBT."

Color photos from games before the 1980's are rather rare, especially ones in the 60's. This week's throwback takes us to a 1967 game at the Cotton Bowl against the Giants.

The Cowboys won the game, 38-24 and just like they did last week in Seattle, they had to rally back from a 10-0 deficit.

Thanks in large part to quarterback Don Meredith, the Cowboys got going offensively and cruised to five touchdowns, including TD passes by Meredith. "Bullet" Bob Hayes had two of the touchdown catches as the Cowboys racked up 414 yards of offense.

Meredith's counterpart for the Giants was Fran Tarkenton, a longtime Viking who spent some of his final years in New York.

In the top picture, Pete Gent is helped off the field by Hayes (22) and Meredith.

Below, Cowboys safety Mike Gaechter attempts to tackle Giants running back Bill Triplett.
