In the second round (56th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected talented edge rusher Sam Williams out of Mississippi. In three seasons with the Rebels, he collected 134 tackles, 22.5 sacks - including a school record 12.5 in 2021 - 33.5 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, an interception and two pass breakups. He played in 15 games in his first pro season, tallying 19 tackles, a team-leading seven tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, 20 pressures, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries. As Williams grows into the NFL game, he will be relied on to make a bigger impact in his second season.
