IRVING, Texas --The Cowboys' aggressive start to free agency will continue with expected visits from linebacker Dan Connor and tight end Kellen Davis.
The Cowboys have clear depth needs at tight end -- free agent Martellus Bennett is visiting the Giants first this week -- and at inside linebacker with Keith Brooking and Bradie James also free agents. Brooking, who will turn 37 this fall, has been rumored to possibly return.
Connor (6-2, 231), a teammate of Cowboys starting inside linebacker Sean Lee at Penn State, has started 19 games over the last two seasons with the Panthers. He's 26 and entering his fifth season.
Davis is also a fifth-year veteran who became a starter last season for the Bears, catching 18 passes for 206 yards and five touchdowns.
The Cowboys wasted no time earlier Tuesday targeting two other needs -- cornerback and backup quarterback -- by scheduling visits with Brandon Carr and Kyle Orton.
