The Cowboys did try to replace him on the 53-man roster earlier in the week, trying to sign fullback Jason Snelling off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad. But the Falcons decided to intercept the Cowboys by signing Snelling to their 53-man roster instead. Snelling, a seventh-round pick of the Falcons this year, was initially signed to the practice squad after he was released.
