2026 NFL Draft Quarterback Prospects

The question marks regarding the quarterback position don’t exactly include Dak Prescott anymore. His 10th pro season was one of the best of his career as Prescott not only set numerous records, including becoming the Cowboys’ all-time leader in passing yards, but he earned his fourth Pro Bowl selection as well. Prescott’s performance left Cowboys Nation wondering just how high he could lead this team if Dallas had more balance on defense. While he never pointed the finger at anyone, only stating he could do more as the team leader, it’s clear that he isn’t slowing down as he enters Season 11. Behind Prescott, the Cowboys signed veteran Sam Howell, who started 17 games for the Commanders in 2023 and has played in 20 career outings, which includes time also spent with the Eagles and Seahawks. Joe Milton was able to see action in four games last season and flashed plenty of athleticism to go along with his strong arm. Preseason games will be vital for him, as he’ll continue developing while also showcasing his potential to be a future starter in this league. So the odds seem slim the Cowboys will spend draft capital on a quarterback, unless the team decides to take a flier on a Day 3 developmental project. – Nick Eatman
