Turpin's first season in the NFL earned him Pro Bowl honors as a returner, after he averaged 24.2 yards on 21 kick returns and ranked fifth in the NFL by averaging 10.4 yards-per-return on 29 punt returns. He became the first Cowboys player ever to be selected to the Pro Bowl as a designated return specialist.
