Austin Says He Wasn't Prepared For 2011

Miles Austin wasn't the Cowboys player or NFL player to have his 2011 season hijacked by bum hamstrings, but whereas the offseason lockout was credited as a major reason why, the wide receiver is putting the blame on himself.

Austin told MensHealth.com (via PFT) that he wasn't prepared for the season.

"I'm feeling great right now, by the way," Austin said. "Right now I'm working with the trainers at our facility. I feel like last year I wasn't prepared for the season the way I should've been condition-wise, even though I looked it, felt it, at the time.

"That's one thing that I have to keep an eye on that I am keeping an eye on, to make sure that I'm in the best physical shape that I can be."

With strength coach Mike Woicik's offseason program underway as of this week, Austin won't be the only one paying close attention to his conditioning this year.
