Cowboys Add OL Depth By Signing Rookie Dan Buchholz

FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys looked outside the organization to churn the depth on their offensive line on Tuesday.

Following a morning workout, the team signed rookie offensive lineman Dan Buchholz to the roster. They released Jared Smith to make room.

Buchholz was a three-year starter at left tackle for Duquesne University, where he earned first-team All-Northeast Conference honors and helped Duquesne reach the FCS playoffs for the first time in school history.

Buchholz signed with the Bears in May after going undrafted, and he was recently released. The Cowboys have been looking for offensive line help for most of the preseason.

Their starters are obviously set, but they've been looking to create competition further down the depth chart.
