Cowboys Finalize Cuts, Including Four Starters

As of 3:01 p.m. (CT), the Cowboys have made official a number of roster cuts, the most notable of which have been reported most of the week.

The list of cuts includes four starters from 2010: Marion Barber, Marc Colombo, Leonard Davis and Roy Williams. Veteran kicker Kris Brown was also let go.

The moves were made to get the team under the salary cap and free up space to sign linemen Doug Free and Kyle Kosier, as has been reported, as well as additional free agents.

Also officially dumped were a number of other players near the bottom of the roster, including 2009 third-round pick offensive lineman Robert Brewster, who spent all of last season on the practice squad. Three more practice-squad members from 2010 were released as well, linebacker Kelvin Smith, guard Travis Bright and receiver Troy Bergeron, who played in the arena league this spring.

Center Andre Gurode (knee) was also designated for the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list following surgery last month.

The Cowboys also announced agreements with six of their eight draft picks - everyone except linebacker Bruce Carter and running back DeMarco Murray.

Couting the rookies who have signed thus far, the team has 82 of a possible 90 players on the camp roster.

Free and Kosier, who cannot sign until later this week, would make 84.
