America's Team is headed to Brazil.

For the first time in 12 seasons, the Cowboys are headed overseas for another regular-season matchup. The NFL just announced the Cowboys will play in Rio de Janeiro this season with a date and opponent to be named later, likely closer to the schedule release in May.

This is the third straight year the NFL has played a regular-season game in Brazil, but the first in Rio de Janeiro after a pair of games were played in Sao Paulo.

The game will be played at the historic Maracanã Stadium, one of the largest venues for a sporting event. More than 26 times has the stadium held crowds of 150,000 or more for soccer matches, including World Cup events.

The only other regular-season game the Cowboys have played outside of the U.S. occurred in 2014 when they faced the Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London. Dallas won the game 31-17, but 11 full seasons have gone before the Cowboys have gone out of the country.

Before that, the Cowboys had played all international games in the preseason, including games in Mexico City, Monterrey, Toronto and Tokyo.

The NFL also announced the 49ers and Rams will play in Melbourne, Australia during the 2026 season as well.

As for the Cowboys' opponents who could play in Rio, the team is scheduled to face the Commanders, Giants, Eagles, Colts, Texans, Seahawks, Rams and Packers on the road. 2026 home opponents are Commanders, Giants, Eagles, Cardinals, 49ers, Bucs, Ravens, Jaguars and Titans.
