CowBuzz: A Heartfelt Letter From The New York Giants

As members of the Dallas Cowboys media department, our jobs consist of covering the team and relaying that coverage to our fans. We all love football, that's why we work here. We love football so much and focus on football so much that sometimes we forget about the bigger picture. Our jobs are to tell stories, create emotion and to create conversations around those emotions. The players are the stars and we're just glad to be a part of bringing their story to life. But sometimes the stories that we tell make an impact and remind us why we do the jobs that we do.

We, as well as other teams around the league, received the below email from the Vice President and Executive Producer of the New York Giants after this past Sunday's game.

*I don't recall ever sending out an e mail like this. However, I want to make sure that we recognize a brilliant, well executed, and most importantly, an emotional moving experience that the Dallas Cowboys put on for the 15th Anniversary of 9/11 at their incredible stadium.
We have all in some way been touched and affected by the events of 9/11. However, here in NY it has had a personal and lasting effect. The Cowboys incorporated the heart and soul of what New York City and the metropolitan area felt on that fateful day and the aftermath that followed. We were all moved deeply by this.
I won't go on with the specifics, but if you get a chance, watch, take notes, and feel the passion and detail that made this such a powerful experience. This is what we all strive to do as they say on "Any given Sunday."
Our hats off to Cory, Scott, Derek, Matt, Dwin, the Jones family and everyone involved in this brilliant production. From all of us here in NY, thank you Dallas Cowboys.

D.S.

Vice President and Executive Producer
New York Football Giants*

To be a part of something that had this type of impact on an organization that lived through those tragic days on September 11, 2001 in New York City is beyond words. As storytellers, this is the highest compliment we could receive.

Thank you to the New York Giants for the kind words and for reminding us why we do what we do. We will never forget.
