He takes on each day with a smile on his face and wears his "browns" with pride. He has dedicated more than half of his life to ensure the DFW community receives their packages safely and on time. For the past 35 years, Vangie Valtier has worked for the UPS Red River District. As an essential employee under the District Manager, Vangie has continued to work throughout quarantine and has been played a key role in ensuring the District office remains up and running. From supporting the local team, running events, and handling finances, Vangie has made a tremendous impact locally with UPS. She just recently retired from her position and has left the District in an even better place due to her tireless efforts. Thank you for all that you do, Vangie, that deserves a Crown!

Crown Royal believes that it's not about what you have, it's what you give and how you give it. This season, Crown Royal is honoring those in the DFW community who embody this generous spirit through the "That Deserves A Crown" program. For almost 20 years, LaTashia Edwards has been serving clients with The Salvation Army in Ft Worth. In addition to providing case management, she is responsible for our rapid rehousing program. She helps homeless clients find apartments and helps them transition into their own place and works to keep them off of the streets. When the Covid-19 pandemic began, LaTashia took the initiative to switch their pantry to a curbside model in order to decrease contact and package up to 400 bags per week! Thank you for all that you do, LaTashia, that deserves a Crown!

For the past 3 and a half years, Tyler Chambless has worked as a Program Manager at the Salvation Army. He is responsible for creating various activities for the Salvation Army's clients and has inspired many with his incorporation of music into his work. He always exhibits a positive attitude and inspires his clients each and every day. Thank you for all that you do, Tyler, that deserves a Crown!

As the only employee at the Salvation Army's Oak Cliff Community Center, Maria Rincon wears many hats. She began her work with the Salvation Army as a program aide and has now shifted to serving as a receptionist. That said, she does much more than what is outlined in her job description. From working with clients and managing administrative tasks to assisting with the food pantry, Maria is the epitome of a hero and ensures all of her clients are taken care of.  Thank you for all that you do, Maria, that deserves a Crown!

Taylor-Nicole Ortiz

For the last 18 months, Taylor has served as a facilitator for helping clients end their homelessness at the Salvation Army. To date, 71% of her clients have successfully transitioned to having housing. In addition, she has taken an active role in developing programming for clients at the Women's shelter. She also volunteered to the help out at the convention center when it was operating as an emergency shelter, and regularly continues the selfless act of volunteering to support to any program at the Carr P. Collins Center that needs help. She is not bound by her job title and will work as a case aide, a teacher, a case manager, or a job coach. She is willing to serve the client and organization in whatever capacity is needed.Thank you for all that you do, Taylor-Nicole, that deserves a Crown!

For the past 10 year, Tanya Porter-Hodges has devoted her time to supporting the Salvation Army's Mabee Center in Fort Worth. She demonstrates unparalleled compassion and attention to her clients. Tanya has such a profound effect on her clients that she is often the first person they call when they need guidance after they have completed the program. She never complains about helping others and often goes beyond the call of duty to assist her peers and superiors alike. In addition, Tanya has established and maintained meaningful relationships with community partners that have help to keep her program at full occupancy. Moreover, she keeps the highest rate of successful client turnover, by ensuring her clients work towards self-sufficiency and attain the necessary tools to remain successful. Thank you for all that you do, Tanya, that deserves a Crown!
