Mailbag: Is LB A High Draft Priority? Faith In Kellen Moore As Backup QB?

RANDY SNYDERNEWALLA, OK

Even if Sean Lee is injury free and Jaylon Smith performs to much of his potential, is there a chance Dallas might pick a linebacker in Round 2 or 3 to bolster the linebackers?

Nick: I don't hate that idea. To me, it comes down to their excitement over Damien Wilson and Mark Nzeocha. And let's not forget about Anthony Hitchens. This team has some good young linebackers already but if there were some talented players at that position in the draft, I think the Cowboys could always add depth there.

Bryan: I don't think so. Believe they want to give Damien Wilson and Mark Nzeocha a chance to show what they've got.

With Dak Prescott now the unquestioned leader of the team as the starting QB, how much confidence do you have in Kellen Moore as the primary backup?

Nick: Sounds like you've got two separate thoughts there. First of all, I don't know if I call Dak the unquestioned leader of this team. Romo retired but Witten hasn't. Yes, Dak is the No. 1 quarterback for sure. Now, to address your real question, I think the Cowboys have some confidence in Moore. But I would also imagine they could draft another quarterback and I'm pretty sure they'll be looking at the veteran options that come available as well.

Bryan: I really don't have much confidence but I am no longer working in the front office. Scott Linehan feels that he can do the job so you have to trust his decision to go with him. Would not be surprised if they find a college kid that played in a similar scheme like Prescott to see if they could develop.
