FRISCO, Texas – A few injury updates as the Cowboys take the practice field Thursday:

-After working on the side Wednesday, cornerback Anthony Brown was on the field during the open portion Thursday. Brown, the team's third corner, did not play against the Bucs due to back spasms.

-Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin was also dressed out and might do more Thursday, head coach Jason Garrett said. He worked on the side Wednesday. The Cowboys are being mindful of his practice reps as he plays through a sprained knee.

-Defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford is not practicing again Thursday, but he was on the field with his teammates before the start of practice. All tests on his injured neck from last Sunday came back negative and he's functioning normally.

-Defensive lineman David Irving continues to be out of practice with a high ankle sprain and it's uncertain when he'll be close to a return. The Cowboys have continued to hold his spot on the active roster rather than move him to

Reserve/Injured. "I think the biggest you try to do with a player like that is a day-by-day process and hopefully he's getting better and better," Garrett said. "He's one of those players who we think could make an impact on our defense if he were healthy. He's just going through the rehab process and hopefully he improves week by week."
