FRISCO, Texas – Head coach Jason Garrett said he anticipates running back Ezekiel Elliott practicing Monday after dealing with some hip soreness after the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day win over Washington.

"His hips were bothering him, so that's why we kept him out of practice yesterday," Garrett said. "He looks better this morning."

Elliott has shouldered a heavy workload in the last three games over a 12-day stretch, carrying the ball 68 times along with 18 receptions.

The Cowboys (6-5) face the New Orleans Saints (10-1) Thursday at AT&T Stadium.

Garrett was hopeful but unsure that three offensive line starters would take part in some of Monday's non-padded practice: left tackle Tyron Smith, left guard Xavier Su'a-Filo and right guard Zack Martin. Su'a-Filo and Martin were participating during the brief open portion but not Smith.

Su'a-Filo, who started the past three games at left guard, hurt his ankle against Washington. Martin has been playing through a sprained knee the last few weeks. Smith was active but did not play on Thanksgiving due to a stinger.

Other players not on the field during the open portion: wide receiver Tavon Austin (groin), tight end Geoff Swaim (wrist), linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) and defensive tackle David Irving (knee).
