Scandrick Expected Back At Training Camp

Cornerback Orlando Scandrick will miss the remainder of Organized Team Activities and Cowboys minicamp (June 11-13) after undergoing surgery on a fracture finger Tuesday evening.

The middle joint on Scandrick's left index finger was injured when the third-year corner attempted to break up a pass in Tuesday's practice at Valley Ranch. A pin was inserted to facilitate healing, but the finger will not be well for 4-6 weeks.

The pin will be removed in four weeks, and Scandrick was told he will be 100 percent when the Cowboys report to San Antonio for training camp on July 24.

The 2008 fifth-round pick from Boise State has not missed a game since joining the Cowboys, primarily serving as the team's slot cornerback.

With Scandrick down, extra practice reps will go to journeymen Cletis Gordon and Marquis  Floyd as well as rookies Jamar Wall of Texas Tech and Bryan McCann of Southern Methodist.
