PRO CON
Dejean’s versatility playing safety, corner and Iowa’s “cash” position at a high level in his three seasons will give an NFL team flexibility with his placement in the pros. He excels in zone packages and succeeds in covering big spaces. His high success in zone packages does not translate to man-coverage ability, as his stuttered change of direction allows receivers with developed route trees to create separation in close coverage. It’s rare to see Dejean press off the line.

OVERVIEW: A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., DeJean brings a unique skill set to the draft class with his versatility and experience despite just three seasons playing for the Hawkeyes. A unanimous consensus All-American in 2023 despite playing in just ten games, DeJean was a staple in an Iowa defense that gave up just 14.8 points per game. With the ball in his hands, DeJean is just as dangerous as he is in coverage, as he returned three interceptions for touchdowns in 2022 and was a First-Team All-Big Ten honoree as a return specialist in 2023.
