2024 NFL Draft Defensive End Prospects

The Cowboys lost a couple of veterans in free agency in moves that were largely expected. Defensive ends Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler, who accounted for 11 ½ sacks last year, both followed Dan Quinn to the Commanders. That leaves the Cowboys with some depth concerns off the edge. Technically, Micah Parsons is listed as a linebacker on the roster, but he has rushed the passer a lot and that likely won’t change. What could change is the playing time for Sam Williams, who should see a big jump in snaps at defensive end as he enters his third season. DeMarcus Lawrence is in the 11th year of his career but is coming off his second straight Pro Bowl season. There simply aren’t many as dependable as him. And the Cowboys have youngsters such as Chauncey Golston and Junior Fehoko, who have the ability to play both inside and outside. They could help Mike Zimmer’s defense in terms of position-flexible players.
