Free agency definitely left the Cowboys with a void at offensive tackle, but that wasn’t exactly unexpected. Tyron Smith leaving for the Jets is a big blow, considering he was a second-team All-Pro last year and will undoubtedly be a Hall of Famer one day. Regardless, the Cowboys must figure out how to replace him on the left side. Using Tyler Smith is an option, but the Cowboys seem content to keep him at guard for now. Meanwhile, on the other end of the line, right tackle Terence Steele was coming off an ACL injury last season and certainly looked better as the 2023 schedule went along. He should be solid once again. Other options at tackle include Matt Waletzko, Asim Richards, Josh Ball and Earl Bostick. They’ll get chances to compete, but it’s clear the Cowboys will add a few more options by the end of April, including a high probability they’ll be looking hard here in the first round.
