PRO CON
McKinstry enters the draft as one of the more physical cover corners with his press-jam off the line and grabby coverage style. His physicality overwhelms opposing receivers even when McKinstry is the smaller of the two. While his physicality does produce results in coverage, it can also lead to penalties and a reliance on his hands at the top of routes rather than his change-of-direction skills. He could be better in reading zone coverage.

OVERVIEW: Nicknamed "Kool-Aid" as a kid by his grandmother because his big smile reminded her of the Kool-Aid Man, McKinstry makes fans smile just as big when he produces impact plays on defense with his physical play-style and his ability to lock down a WR1. With 42 games under his belt from his time with the Crimson Tide, McKinstry has more experience as a junior than some departing seniors in the draft class while also bringing an ability to make an impact in the return game with his 332 punt return yards in 2022 (second in FBS).
