PRO CON
Athleticism flies off the chart when evaluating Latu as a quick first step and natural bend allows him to attack off the edge as a pass rusher. There he can break into the backfield and violently bring down the quarterback. Power and strength differences may overwhelm Latu at the next level as his style relies more on his flexibility and crafty pass-rush moves rather than his power to drive through opposing offensive linemen. Added weight to his lower half could help him improve in this area.

OVERVIEW: Having started his career at the University of Washington, where he played 12 games in his freshman season, Latu was forced to medically retire after suffering a neck injury in practice that doctors deemed too serious for him to continue playing. However, Latu underwent a fusion surgery that helped him make his way back to football, and he found a home at UCLA for his final two seasons. His time with the Bruins proved to be fruitful, earning him the Lombardi Award in 2023 after accounting for 21.5 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
