PRO CON
If you’re looking for a linebacker that excels in pass coverage, Liufau is your guy. The Hawaii native commands the middle of the field, but also has a keen ability at blowing up screens and protecting the line of scrimmage on swing plays. Liufau struggles to find consistency defending the run, as offensive linemen get into the second level and square him up with regularity, and his run lane discipline doesn’t show up too often.

OVERVIEW: One of many Polynesian linebackers to make their way to Notre Dame in the last decade, Liufau enters the draft after five seasons with the Fighting Irish – although he lost one season in 2021 due to a torn ACL suffered in fall camp. His coverage abilities in the middle of the field allowed Marcus Freeman's defense to be more complete with its pass rush and coverage units around him. His day-two projection sees him as a potential fit for a defense needing an athletic cover guy to control the middle of the field.

COMPARISON: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
