PRO CON
All-around playmaker with a nose for the right cut. His big-play ability was on display with a whopping 6.3 yards per carry in 2023. Most of his chunk plays came from a mixture of quick acceleration, vision and long speed. Just as much as he found success freelancing at the second level, he’d rely on that early in carries when there was no need to, leading to tackles in the backfield. Not extremely agile for someone his size.

OVERVIEW: There were few tailbacks in college football last season with the home-run ability Bucky Irving displayed. Finishing the year with 10 touchdowns, he finally showed his scoring ability could follow his massive yards-per-carry numbers from 2021 (5.3) and 2022 (6.4). As a featured back, Irving carried the Ducks to the Pac-12 title game and a Fiesta Bowl win. A game he decided to play in despite his draft buzz, he tallied 14 carries, 117 yards and a touchdown against Liberty. The biggest question will surround his durability at the next level.
