PRO CON
Hicks brings versatility to a defense with his ability to be trusted in single-high looks, lined up in the nickel in man coverage against receivers or tight ends, and as a box safety playing closer to the second level with his run-game knacks. Testing will be a big determining factor in where Hicks falls on draft weekend, as scouts question his ability to get in and out of breaks as well as his ability to limit separation when lined up in man coverage against shiftier receivers.

OVERVIEW: Hicks burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman in 2022 where he accounted for 76 tackles and one interception as a trusted third-level player for the Cougars. He followed up his breakout campaign with a redshirt sophomore season in 2023 that produced 79 tackles, two interceptions and improved play all-around, most notably in defending the run. His diagnosing skills from the back of the defense will improve the teammates around him at the next level. Hicks is one of the younger safeties in the class after just three years in Pullman.

COMPARISON: DeShon Elliott
