Strong-bodied pass catcher with a ton of raw athleticism. Has the explosiveness to succeed on deep routes but reliability to secure the catch in traffic. Does a good job of keeping defenders on his back side and giving quarterbacks a big target. Still learning the position’s nuances, like breaking routes off and sinking into his cuts. Stover has to refine his hand placement when blocking to give better leverage and strength against defenders. Not going to blow past anyone with top-level speed.

OVERVIEW: From linebacker to edge rusher to then finally tight end, Stover took the unconventional route to the NFL as a pass catcher. Because of the late switch in his playing career, he still has much to learn about the position. But it does mean his ceiling could be higher than anyone else in the tight end class. His production grew as his experience increased, finishing with 41 receptions and 576 yards in 2023. Whichever team takes a chance on Stover will not only have high upside at tight end but an elite special teamer too.
