Parcells said the Cowboys had a 25-minute walkthrough and then a full practice on Wednesday. The club had an extensive walkthrough on Tuesday . . . Six of the Cowboys' seven games against Carolina have been decided by no more than 10 points, the only exception being the Panthers' 29-10 playoff win in 2003 . . . Chargers rookie linebacker Shawne Merriman was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording three tackles for losses and two sacks in a 26-17 win over the previously-unbeaten Colts. He was also named to the AFC Pro Bowl team as an outside linebacker. Merriman was taken 12th overall in April's draft, one pick after Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware. Merriman leads all rookies with nine sacks, while Ware is first in tackles (54).
