Charlotte Jones Anderson, chief brand officer of the Cowboys, was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award from Volunteer Center of North Texas at a luncheon in her honor today.

The Volunteer Center of North Texas recognizes the need, importance and impact of volunteering as a family, with a focus on students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Anderson said giving back and helping others are essential for the Cowboys organization.

"I have been fortunate enough to spend the past 20 years with the Dallas Cowboys working alongside my family," Anderson said. "We've realized that we have the power and visibility to use who we are with the Cowboys to transfer that over to a more important thing."

Anderson also said compassion is not a spectator sport. "That's where their volunteer center comes in; they give everyone a chance to play. They connect the volunteers with the organizations who need their help so much."
