Barron At Final Practice; No Spears

Offensive tackle Alex Barron is at practice wearing a wrap on what is believed to be a dislocated left pinky finger, suffered in Thursday's afternoon practice. This is a final walk-through before camp breaks in San Antonio, so the players aren't taking real live reps.

No sign of defensive end Marcus Spears, who could miss four-to-six weeks with a left MCL sprain also suffered just before the final whistle Thursday.

Regarding Barron's situation, I asked a reliable source on the subject last night. It was a football opinion, not a medical one, but it would seem likely Barron could buddy-tape his pinky and ring fingers together and play with the injury once the swelling goes down. Or possibly a splint could be used.

We'll check with Wade Phillips on both fronts after practice ends.
