Choice Among Vets Missing Miami Trip

The Cowboys made their last road trip of the preseason on Wednesday, but arrived in Miami with nearly a dozen players left behind.

One of those included running back Tashard Choice, who has a minor knee injury. The knee flared up on him in the last two days, enough for the Cowboys to keep him back in Dallas for this preseason finale. Obviously, Choice's roster spot has been in question with Felix Jones and draft pick DeMarco Murray figuring into the mix and the emergence of youngsters Lonyae Miller and Phillip Tanner behind him.

Other players not on the trip include Miles Austin (hamstring), Marcus Spears (groin), Terence Newman (groin), Kyle Kosier (back) and linebacker Bradie James (foot).

Cornerback Mike Jenkins did travel with the team and might play Thursday night. He's been out the first three games with a lingering neck injury. He's practiced some in the last two weeks but without contact.

Veteran guard Montrae Holland hasn't played this preseason but should play and likely start at right guard with Kosier out.
