Cowboys Add Corner LeQuan Lewis For CB Depth, Special Teams

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys have filled the empty roster spot with cornerback LeQuan Lewis, who was signed off the Jets practice squad.

Lewis will likely contribute immediately on special teams, meaning he should be active for Sunday's game with the Seahawks.

His addition probably doesn't affect the status of Mike Jenkins, who has been practicing the last 10 days with a shoulder injury that kept him out all of the offseason. Jenkins said this week he not only expects to but is "anxious" to play.

Lewis was an undrafted free agent in 2011 out of Arizona State and signed with the Titans, who cut him at the end of training camp. After sitting out all of last year, Lewis signed with the Raiders in May but was cut in June before he signed with the Jets, who retained him on their practice squad.

The Cowboys had an empty roster spot after officially cutting tight end Colin Cochart on Tuesday.
