IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys signed defensive tackle Jerome Long to the roster Monday, three days after releasing defensive end Anthony Hargrove.

Long fills Hargrove's spot on the 90-man roster after the veteran was cut Thursday, just more than a month after his May 16 signing. A San Diego State product, Long was selected 218th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2012 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound tackle spent his rookie season the Chiefs practice squad until he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars just after Christmas. The Jaguars released him April 29, two days after this year's draft.

Long was in the Cowboys' rookie minicamp earlier this spring as a tryout player, but he was not signed after the conclusion of the three-day camp.
